Sunday SetList - May 15, 2011

This is my first worship set list blog post as a participant in the "Sunday Setlists" at TheWorshipCommunity.com.  Our worship meetings have been powerful lately, so I want to document what God is doing as we gather in His name, and share it with you.  It's incredible to see what God is doing through individuals in the church as well as in our small town.  My God is an AWESOME God!!

Furious (by Jeremy Riddle) – A
You Are Good (by Bethel Church) – E   (NOTE: Corrected artist)
Worthy, You Are Worthy (by Matt Redman)– B
I Exalt Thee (traditional – chorus only) – B
Rivers (by Eric Hurtgen) – E
Forever (by Chris Tomlin - B
(Note: Our team normally does not play exactly like the recordings.  Every song is an arrangement from our band.)

This week, we did not have a drummer.  The only instrumentation was 2 electric guitars, acoustic guitar, bass, keys/organ, and two vocals.  Even though we did not have the rhythm of the drums, worship was amazing!  After the music portion, our pastor made an observation that resonated with me.  He said, “An amazing thing happens during our worship.  As we ascribe to how worthy God our Father is to us, all of a sudden there is a realization of our value to God.”  So true!  The worship continued as our pastor gave the message.  At the end of the message, the pastor welcomed our elementary school children who have been learning and praying about prophecy.  The children shared what they heard from God and prayed over people who needed healing.  I was amazed at the response from the number of adults coming forward seeking the healing prayers of the children in our church.

I love how the Lord also speaks to our children.  It's a beautiful thing!

  1. Hey Melanie!

The "You Are Good" song we did is actually by Bethel Church, not Gateway. Just thought you'd like to know! ;-)

Glad you're feeling better, Joseph and I prayed for you last night!

  2. By the way, did you study journalism at some point? You're a really good re-capper/article writer!

  3. Melanie,

So glad you have joined The Worship Community and will be sharing recaps from your worship gatherings. It's fun to learn from one another and be encouraging by what God is doing in our midst. Sounds like God is at work in your community of faith.

    Stay connected...

  4. Thanks for clarifying, Jessica! I did a Yahoo search on the song to see who wrote it. Bethel is still good! :-)

Thanks for praying for me. The swelling is going down, but at least I can breathe. I'll be on medication this week, and then I'll see an allergist in a few weeks to see if we can find out what caused my severe reaction.

BTW, I'm a math major. So I have to chuckle when people say "you are a good writer." I guess all that creative writing I did in school is showing up now. :-)

Terry, thanks. TWC has been a great resource for me over the past couple years. I've met several people that have encouraged me and prayed for me even though we never met. TWC is an awesome community of worshipers. I'm glad to be a part of it.
